Comoros

The Union of the Comoros is a southern African state in the northern part of the Mozambique Channel. The country's capital is Moroni, the official languages are Comorian (shikomor), spoken by 96.9% of the population, French and Arabic, and the currency is the Comorian franc. The total surface area of the Union of the Comoros is 2,236 km2. The capital, Moroni, is located on the largest of the islands, Grande Comore. The Union of the Comoros relies partly on remittances from its diaspora, which establish 25% of GDP.
