Executive Secretariat (ES)
The Executive Secretariat is led by an Executive Secretary, appointed by a decree issued by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister in charge of Trade. The Executive Secretary holds the rank of Central Administration Director.
The Executive Secretariat is composed of civil servants and experts. The other members of the Secretariat are nominated by the technical ministries represented in the African Continental Free Trade Area National Committee, at the request of the Executive Secretary.
