Guinea-Bissau covers an area of 36,120 km², with 28,000 km² of land and 8,120 km² of sea. The main source of foreign currency is cashew nut exports, which account for 60 % of the country's income. Guinea-Bissau is the 3^rd largest cashew nut producer in Africa, and 6th largest in the world, with annual production of 120,000 tonnes worth $60 million.
