Democratic Republic of Congo

The country is also known simply as Congo, or more often as RDC, Congo-Kinshasa or RD Congo, to differentiate it from the neighboring Republic of Congo. Four times the size of France, eighty times the size of Belgium, one-and-a-half times the size of Quebec (Canada), or as large as the part of the USA east of the Mississippi, it is the 11th largest state in the world, covering an area of 2,345,409 km2. The economy is essentially agricultural (70 % of the workforce) and export-oriented.
