Rwanda

Rwanda extends over 26,338 km2 in the Great Lakes region. The capital, Kigali, is perched at an altitude of 1,400 metres, with a large part of the country above this level. Rwanda's economy is mainly characterised by its heavy dependence on agriculture (40% of GDP, 87% of national activity, with arable land accounting for 45.6% of the country's surface area), annual growth of over 6%, development of services, low industrialisation and very high population density (>400 inhabitants/ km2).
