Togo
Togo's 2020 population is estimated at around 8.6 million, with a population density of 152 inhabitants/ km2.
One of the smallest continental African states, Togo covers 56,785 km2. Togo's economy is essentially based on food crops, which account for 65% of the workforce. The rest of the workforce (30%) earns its living from growing cocoa, coffee and cotton, but above all from phosphate mining, which is vital to the country.
