Private Sector Day

On Wednesday, 11 May 2022, the members of the National Committee of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA-NC) participated in the Private Sector Day.

Representing the Minister of Trade, Industry, and SME Promotion, Mr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, Ms. Fatoumata FOFANA BOUNDY, Executive Secretary of the AfCFTA-NC, chaired a panel discussion on the theme "Compilation of AfCFTA Opportunities and Capitalization Approach." She was joined by representatives from the Côte d'Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The purpose of this workshop was twofold: first, to facilitate consultations between the Ivorian government, the private sector, and technical and financial partners on opportunities and development pathways for the private sector; and second, to discuss the conditions for formulating a roadmap of recommended reforms and a strategy to maximize investment opportunities and access to new markets for businesses.

This initiative is crucial for building a robust private sector that is well-positioned to benefit from the AfCFTA, contributing significantly to economic growth and integration within Africa.
