The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the African E-Trade Group have announced a partnership aimed at supporting 600,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accessing the AfCFTA market. This initiative will be implemented through the evolving Sokokuu digital capacity-building marketplace.
As part of this effort, the collaboration seeks to create 22 million decent jobs over four years. The decision to move forward with this initiative was formalized on 24 November 2022 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Another key focus of the partnership is improving women's readiness to export on a larger scale, alongside promoting investment in SMEs.
