Algerian Operators must seize AfCFTA Opportunities

In a Facebook post, Algeria's Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, called on economic operators to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to access new markets.

The AfCFTA is designed to eliminate trade barriers between African member countries, enabling businesses to tap into a market of 1.3 billion consumers.

Zitouni emphasized that, to boost inter-African trade and enhance Algeria's economic position in Africa, the country’s economic operators must actively seek new opportunities through the AfCFTA. This initiative is intended to promote national products and operators by providing them with a variety of commercial opportunities.

This week, Tayeb Zitouni participated in the ministerial meeting and the extraordinary session of the AfCFTA Council of Ministers of Trade in Nairobi, Kenya. These discussions focused on unresolved issues related to negotiations on rules of origin in the automotive, textiles, and clothing sectors.
