The inaugural meeting of the Thematic Working Group (TWG) on competition policy issues, organised by the Executive Secretariat of the AfCFTA-NC, took place on 27 May 2022 at the Competition Commission in Attoban, Riviera (Abidjan). This significant national meeting aimed to define Côte d'Ivoire's position on competition policy within the framework of the AfCFTA.
The session provided an excellent opportunity for the members of the TWG to become acquainted with one another, gain insights into the ongoing competition policy negotiations, and establish a structured work programme for their future activities. The discussions are seen as a vital step in aligning the country’s position on competition as it moves forward with the broader AfCFTA integration process.
