On Monday 07 March 2022, the Executive Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area National Committee (ES AfCFTA-NC) welcomed Dr. MÉÏTÉ, Director General of Economic Diplomacy of Côte d'Ivoire.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review the current status of the AfCFTA in Côte d'Ivoire and to identify market opportunities that could attract profitable investments to the country.
During the discussions, Mrs. Fatoumata FOFANA BOUNDY, Executive Secretary of the AfCFTA-NC, expressed her gratitude to Dr. MÉÏTÉ for his keen interest in the implementation of the AfCFTA in Côte d'Ivoire. She reaffirmed the commitment of the National Committee to collaborate with the Directorate of Ivorian Diplomacy in establishing concrete actions that would benefit both Ivorian diplomacy and various stakeholders involved in the AfCFTA agreement.
Dr. MÉÏTÉ commended and encouraged the initiatives and awareness-raising sessions already conducted by the AfCFTA-NC. He made several recommendations, including the organization of information and awareness sessions on the AfCFTA for members of the Ivorian diplomatic corps. The Executive Secretary of the AfCFTA-NC responded positively to these recommendations, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration.
