Projects

Development of Proactive Sectoral Trade Strategies

Project Description This project is designed to meet a number of needs. Firstly, it aims to establish a fairly detailed list of products (raw materials or manufactured goods of origin) for which Côte d'Ivoire has a comparative advantage, or those corresponding to external demand, based on the conclusions of the national export strategy. Secondly, in collaboration with public and private Trade Support Institutions, a directory of SMEs and exporters active in the production, processing and marketing of the products identified should be established. Finally, it will be important to stimulate government action in favor of SMEs and exporters, by providing them with the necessary support and guidance.
Objectives - Promote the Côte d'Ivoire brand and promote it as a destination; - Encourage the development of trade with African countries; - Dissemnate trade information to merchants with the necessary assistance.
Targets Manufacturers (including SMEs), with first-time exporters
Priority actions - Organization of 2 workshops with the agricultural and industrial sectors to identify priority export products.
- Market analysis of the five African regions to identify the markets offering the best opportunities for the selected Ivorian products.
- Organization of four training seminars on the theme: “AfCFTA: growth markets for Ivorian products and how to access them”.
- Organization of two workshops to prepare Ivorian exporters for effective participation in the Intra African Trade Fair (IATF).
Expected results - Ivorian products with high export potential on the African market are well identified; - Ivorian SMEs and first-time exporters are trained and supported by national export support and financing institutions (Ministry of Trade, APEX-CI, Côte d'Ivoire SME Agency, etc.); - Growth markets are identified, - Ivorian products are better showcased at national and international trade fairs; - The manufacturing industry is developing, with Ivorian products becoming increasingly competitive.
