Côte d'Ivoire: The Centre for Prospective Studies Presented to the Press

The promoters of the Centre for Prospective Studies (CEP) addressed the press on Thursday, 30 September 2021.

The think-tank will officially launch its activities next 25 October. Media representatives had the opportunity today to find out more about this initiative.

Minister Sidi Touré, on behalf of the founding members, shared the ambitions of the organisation. He stated that the CEP was created to foster development policies by spreading practices that could inspire other nations. He explained that the think-tank aspires to be a center for managerial action with a fundamental principle of enhancing the living conditions of people for sustainable development.

The Minister for Animal Resources and Fisheries outlined that the CEP's activities will focus on four main areas: hosting international conferences or summer schools, conducting sectoral workshops, forming expert panels, and producing detailed reports. The inaugural conference to mark the official launch of this think tank is set to take place on Monday, 25 October 2021, in Abidjan. The chosen theme for this event is "The African Continental Free Trade Area: A Lever for Food Security in Africa."

Minister Touré further highlighted that the Centre for Prospective Studies (CEP) will foster a culture of forward-thinking and anticipation, aiming to drive change and enhance the well-being of African citizens. The inaugural event is expected to gather over 200 participants in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire's economic capital, including various heads of state and government leaders.
